VaniQ

Privacy Policy

Last updated 24 September 2026

VaniQ turns speech into text on your own Mac. Your voice and your transcripts are never sent to us, because there is nowhere for them to go.

The short version. Audio never leaves your computer. Transcripts are never written to disk or transmitted. Account and subscription information, and optional website advertising measurement, are described below.

What stays on your Mac

What we hold

Only a signed-in account with an active free trial or subscription can receive a download link. Signing in for the first time starts the free trial; no payment details are collected for it. We count links issued per day, release version and known campaign label. These aggregate counts contain no account identifier, audio or transcript. Separately, optional Google Ads measurement works as described below. A link request does not tell us whether you installed or used the app.

Who else is involved

Optional Google Ads measurement

If you choose “Allow ad measurement”, we load the Google tag (Google LLC) to understand which advertisements lead to a successfully issued trial download link. Google may receive website visits, the conversion event, ad-click and cookie identifiers, and technical information such as IP address and browser details. This measures a download link issued, not an installation, app usage or purchase. We do not send audio, transcripts, source code, account details or signed download URLs in the conversion event.

We use basic Google Consent Mode. Advertising storage and advertising data sharing are denied by default worldwide, including in the EEA and UK. The advertising tag loads only after you opt in. Personalized advertising and Google Analytics storage remain disabled. If you reject optional measurement, no Google advertising tag is loaded and your download still works. We do not report rejected or pre-consent downloads later if you subsequently opt in.

Google’s processing may involve transfers outside your country, including the United States. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s privacy policy.

Cookies

Essential browser storage keeps you signed in and remembers your privacy choice for up to 180 days. The privacy preference contains a choice, policy version and timestamp; it is not a visitor identifier. With permission, Google Ads can use advertising cookies, including cookies whose names begin with _gcl_, to connect an ad click to a download-link conversion.

You can refuse optional measurement or withdraw consent at any time using “Privacy choices” at the bottom of any page. Withdrawal stops future measurement, removes accessible first-party advertising cookies and reloads the page to unload the Google tag. It does not undo data already sent to Google. You can also clear cookies through your browser. Refusing or withdrawing consent does not affect downloading, signing in or using VaniQ.

Your rights

You can see everything we hold about you on your account page. To delete your account and the subscription record attached to it, email contact@coheronlab.com and it will be removed within 30 days. Cancelling a subscription does not by itself delete the account, so say if you want both.

If you are in the UK, EU or another region with data protection law, you have the right to access, correct, export or erase your data, and to complain to your local supervisory authority.

Children

VaniQ is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the date above changes and we will say so on the site before it takes effect.
